JRNY by Bowflex

Shaping the future of strength workouts for the JRNY app.

The JRNY app by Bowflex, unites parent company Nautilus's wide range of cardio machines under a single system and experience, allowing users to place their tablet or phone on their machine for a guided and trackable workout experience. Our team partnered closely with internal researchers and developers to create both company guiding vision work and tactical new features using emergent technology over a year long client engagement.

Project Components

Fitness Score (concept work)
Research suggested users responded positively to a single numeric score that rates their fitness level overtime. How can we incorporate that into our app experience to guide and inspire?
JRNY Strength
With competitors like Tonal creating new strength workout experiences, we connected a form tracking strength experience that could push new product ideas, yet was tactical for release on the existing JRNY app.
JRNY Vision (concept work)
I lead in the creation of an app redesign that could serve as a vision for the future of the JRNY ecosystem as leadership strategized and prioritized visual and system updates.

JRNY Strength

Using emergent technologies like an AI voice coach for hands free controls and form tracking with feedback, we crafted an in app experience that could adapt to previously prodcd strength workout videos and serve as framework to create new adaptive workouts that track users strength and coach through form.
